We are seeking a dynamic Locum Respiratory Consultant to join our specialist services at St James University Hospital. As a full-time fixed term locum post, you will work closely with our multidisciplinary team to provide high-quality patient care.

Job Description

This exciting opportunity involves working as a full-time (10 PA) Locum Consultant in Respiratory Medicine with a special interest in TB & COPD. You will be based at St James's University Teaching Hospital, where you will have inpatient and outpatient responsibilities.

The successful candidate will possess Membership of the Royal College of Physicians of the United Kingdom (or equivalent) and should be included on the Specialist Register or within 6 months of CCT at the time of interview, if currently within a training programme within the UK.

You will have established skills in Respiratory Medicine & General Medicine and its related specialties including TB & COPD. A strong commitment to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and a research interest is desirable.

This is a fantastic opportunity to enhance your clinical skills and experience while contributing to the development of our respiratory medicine department.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Evidence of the ability to carry out medical research
  • Experience of participation in regular clinical audit

The appointee must hold the Membership of the Royal Colleges of Physicians of the United Kingdom, or equivalent, and have completed higher specialist training in Respiratory Medicine.

The successful applicant should also be able to demonstrate a high level of clinical experience and competence in Respiratory Medicine with special interest in COPD & TB.
