Job Description

Oliver Sanderson is partnering with a leading global engineering company in Europe to find a highly skilled M&E Design Director. This is a fantastic opportunity to lead the infrastructure division and contribute to decarbonisation projects.

The Design Director will be part of the senior leadership team and report directly to the divisional CEO. They will be responsible for building and managing a multi-disciplinary design team, overseeing quality control and compliance, and developing digital information management strategies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure quality control and compliance in all design-related activities.
  • Develop and implement Building Information Modelling and digital information management strategies.
  • Set design objectives aligned with the company's goals.
  • Monitor and manage risks associated with design and engineering through a dedicated committee.
  • Promote strong communication within the design team and across the division.
  • Support innovation and digital transformation within the division.
  • Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations in all design and engineering activities.
  • Manage budgets related to design and engineering functions.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience at a senior level managing multi-disciplinary design and engineering teams across various projects. They will have exceptional project and change management skills, a thorough knowledge of business assurance and risk management systems, and proven experience in implementing new systems and ways of working. A master's degree in design, M&E Engineering, or a related technical field is highly desirable.

This is a hybrid role with a combination of working from home and travel to a local office, with some travel as required.
