At Fawkes & Reece South, we are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Civil Engineering Foreman - Site Management to join our team. As a key member of our groundworks operations, you will be responsible for supervising and leading a team of groundworkers, ensuring that work is carried out effectively and efficiently. You will work closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment with project requirements and deliver high-quality services to our clients.

Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and lead a team of groundworkers, delegating tasks and responsibilities as needed.
  • Plan and organize groundworks activities according to project timelines and specifications.
  • Conduct site assessments and surveys to determine the scope of work and identify potential challenges.
  • Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment with project requirements.
  • Oversee excavation, backfilling, and compaction activities to ensure proper site preparation.
  • Manage the installation of drainage systems, including pipes, culverts, and manholes.
  • Monitor the installation of foundations and footings, ensuring accuracy and adherence to engineering drawings.
  • Supervise the placement of concrete and other materials, ensuring proper curing and finishing.
  • Implement and enforce safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment for all team members.
  • Conduct regular inspections and quality checks to ensure that work meets industry standards and client expectations.
  • Manage equipment and material resources efficiently, coordinating deliveries and maintenance as needed.
  • Provide training and guidance to groundworkers, promoting skill development and adherence to best practices.

Requirements:
  • Proven experience in groundworks construction, with a minimum of 8 years in a supervisory or foreman role.
  • In-depth knowledge of groundworks techniques, materials, and equipment.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively manage and motivate a team.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to address challenges and make decisions under pressure.
  • Thorough understanding of health and safety regulations and a commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and stakeholders to achieve project objectives.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to various job sites as required.

Salary:

£42,000 - £52,000 per annum
