Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Laboratory Technician to join our team at Imerys. As a Laboratory Technician, you will play a crucial role in research, conducting tests, experiments, and analysis in a controlled lab environment.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Perform test measurements at laboratory scale following Approved Test Methods and Good Lab Practices signed off by the Laboratory Manager.
  • Assure results are accurately recorded, and reported, in a timely fashion and following the agreed quality checks.
  • Contribute to the ISO/IEC 17025:2017 accreditation process.
  • Follow the daily and weekly instrument checks, calibration procedures, quality control sample monitoring to prove method competency.
  • Contribute to the safe operation of the team by following health and safety guidelines agreed with Laboratory Manager.
  • Identify mechanisms to improve performance by reporting of unsafe conditions and health and safety related incidents.

Requirements:

  • Must be able to work within a laboratory environment, including the safe use of laboratory equipment and chemicals.
  • Have a recognised qualification in Chemistry (minimum A' Level qualification or equivalent).
  • Use of LIMS.
  • Have practical experience of working within a lab environment.
  • Have a problem solving and analytical mind.
  • Be able to use Excel proficiently, to process and analyse data.
  • Basic spreadsheet and word document skills (MS Excel and/or Google Docs/Sheets).
