Job Summary:

The Ministry of Justice is seeking a Chief Operating Officer to lead the Financial Reporting, Transactions and Governance team within the Financial Management Control Risk & Governance Directorate. This role will be responsible for transforming and managing Purchase to Pay (P2P) processes, working closely with Finance and Commercial teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement policies, processes, and communications to transform and transact P2P processes.
  • Agree and implement new policies, working with other lead SMEs, and ensure understanding and compliance with policies, backed by robust processes.
  • Manage changes in processes, putting in place measures to ensure business readiness.
  • Work in a flexible way and undertake any other duties reasonably requested by line management, commensurate with the grade and level of responsibility of the post.

Requirements:

  • Strong knowledge of best practice P2P policies and processes.
  • Excellent communication, networking, and negotiating skills.
  • Reporting and analytical skills using a major ERP system and Intermediate/Advanced Excel.

Working Arrangements:

The Ministry of Justice offers Hybrid Working arrangements, where business need allows. This role requires regular travel to Birmingham, London, or other locations across England and Wales. The post holder is expected to meet their own travel costs to and from their base location.
