Senior Finance Manager

The Senior Finance Manager will play a crucial role in providing comprehensive financial and business support to the Division. This includes providing expert financial advice and training to managers and clinicians, as well as presenting complex financial information to non-finance staff. The postholder will work closely with leadership teams to ensure the consistent achievement of financial performance and outcome targets that support high-quality patient care.
Main Responsibilities- Support the Business Advisor in providing a robust financial planning and reporting service to the Division, including month-end closedown, financial forecasting, and risk assessment.
- Manage a small team of staff, ensuring priorities are delivered to expected standards and timescales, and that staff receive regular appraisals and development opportunities.
- Produce accurate, timely, and appropriate monthly financial and performance management information for the Directorates, including the monthly management accounts within Trust agreed timescales.
- Quality assure accruals, prepayments, and adjustments to be reflected in the monthly management accounts and maintain a clear audit trail by means of adherence to financial procedures.
- Ensure that reports are of the highest quality by actively contributing to the quality assurance process and producing key validations and reconciliations.
- Lead, coordinate, and manage the process of annual financial planning and budget setting for Directorates and the Division, working within an agreed corporate framework.
- Work closely alongside Directorate and Divisional Managers, Clinical Service Leads, and Senior Nurses in the annual financial planning process for the group, including identifying, coordinating, and quantifying Service Developments, Cost Pressures, Cost Improvement Programmes, and Capital Bids to support the annual objectives.
