Job Description

White Lodge Centre is seeking a dedicated and experienced individual to join our Board of Trustees. As a Trustee, you will play a vital role in shaping the future of our organisation and ensuring that we continue to provide high-quality services to those in need.

Responsibilities
As a Trustee, your main duties will include:

  • Monitoring and ensuring compliance with the Charity's objectives and governing documents.
  • Periodically reviewing these objectives to reflect the evolving needs of society, while staying true to the Charity's mission.
  • Approving policies, plans, and budgets that align with our objectives.
  • Ensuring compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and regulatory requirements.
  • Upholding a collective and individual duty to act in the best interests of the Charity and its beneficiaries at all times.
  • Maintaining the Board's independence and managing conflicts of interest effectively.

Knowledge and Understanding
As a Trustee, you will bring a strong understanding and acceptance of the legal duties, responsibilities, and liabilities of Trusteeship. You will also possess professional and personal integrity, with sound independent judgment. Additionally, you will have the ability to think creatively and confidently voice your opinions and perspectives.

Time Commitment
Trustee Board meetings are held quarterly, with additional sessions for in-depth reviews typically on an annual basis. Meetings usually occur in the evenings, and we encourage in-person attendance, though online participation is available.

Qualities We Seek
We are specifically looking for Trustees who bring a qualification in Social Work or Health Care, a strong understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities within the health and social care sector, and a commitment to diversity, inclusion, and the benefits of a diverse Board.
