Machine Tool Service Engineer Opportunity

Shillito Executive Search is working with a leading Sheffield-based machining business to find an experienced Machine Tool Service Engineer to join their team.

The role involves working on a high-profile project that will involve the installation and service of advanced five-axis machines. As part of the project, the Machine Tool Service Engineer will be part of a team working on the next generation of UK defence programmes.

The company will be working in partnership with the customer and new machine tool provider OEM. The successful candidate will be a key member of a highly skilled team, responsible for delivering high-quality results and identifying areas for improvement.

The Machine Tool Service Engineer will be responsible for:

  • Machine Tool Installations
  • Machine Tool fault finding and correction
  • Part identification
  • Attending meetings and carrying out Health and Safety requirements
  • Working closely with the Engineering Team to plan maintenance work
  • Contributing to a culture of continuous improvement
  • Liaising with the Lead Engineer to optimize plant efficiency

We're looking for a Machine Tool Service Engineer with:

  • Engineering Apprenticeship and HNC
  • Service and Maintenance experience at a high level, ideally supervisory
  • Experience of working on CNC machines, hydrostatic and hydraulic systems
  • The ability to read and understand machine tool mechanical and electrical drawings

This is a great opportunity to work on state-of-the-art machinery on a major project lasting the next decade. The role is a permanent day-based position in Sheffield.
