A prestigious Ground Engineering testing company, based in the UK, is seeking a highly skilled Laboratory Technician with experience in construction materials, soil, and aggregate sampling environment.

Job Overview

The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting laboratory tests on soil samples to determine their physical and mechanical properties. This involves operating and maintaining laboratory equipment and instruments, documenting all testing procedures and results accurately, and assisting in interpreting test results and providing insights to project managers and clients.

This role requires strong knowledge of the construction industry, with experience within materials testing and construction materials, soil, and aggregate sampling environment being advantageous. A UK Driving Licence is also required.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct laboratory tests on soil samples to determine their physical and mechanical properties.
  • Operate and maintain laboratory equipment and instruments.
  • Document all testing procedures and results accurately.
  • Assist in interpreting test results and providing insights to project managers and clients.

In addition to these responsibilities, the successful candidate will also adhere to quality control standards and protocols to ensure the accuracy and reliability of test results, follow health and safety guidelines to maintain a safe working environment in the laboratory, and assist with the quality management and auditing requirements under ISO 17025.

Requirements
  • HNC or equivalent qualification advantageous.
  • Experience within construction materials, soil, and aggregate sampling environment.
  • Experience within materials testing.
  • Strong knowledge of the construction industry.
  • UK Driving Licence.
Benefits

We offer a competitive salary of up to £28,000 per annum (dependent on experience), contributory pension scheme, full training and progression opportunities, and 25 days holiday plus bank holidays. The hours of work are 7.5 hours per day, 5 days per week.
