About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Pension Fund Accountant to join our team at XPS Group. As a key member of our Pensions Administration business, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accurate and timely preparation of pension scheme Trustee Reports and Accounts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare pension scheme Trustee Reports and Accounts, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
  • Reconcile investment transactions, identifying and resolving any discrepancies or issues.
  • Prepare all necessary working papers and reconciliations of financial statements, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Liaise with auditors and investment managers to ensure smooth communication and resolution of any issues.
  • Prepare self-assessment tax returns (SA970) and reconcile cash books and pensioner payrolls.
  • Provide expert advice to pensions accounts queries, staying up-to-date with technical and legislative developments in the pensions accounts industry.
  • Ensure company policies and working procedures are implemented and adhered to by self.
  • Update the time recording system (Virtual Office) for both chargeable and non-chargeable activities.
Requirements
  • A proven accounting background, gained within an accounting practice or a third-party pension provider, with experience in accounting techniques, including reconciliation and year-end processes.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
