Elevation Recruitment Group is thrilled to present an exciting opportunity for a seasoned Automation Systems Engineering Lead to join an innovative engineering business based in Rotherham. Due to an increase in project demand, the company seeks a highly skilled professional to spearhead robotics and automation projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Developing customer-centric engineering solutions that meet requirements, provide value for money, and deliver on unique selling points (USPs) to support business development quotations.
  • Actively working on engineering projects, conducting design work, and creating innovative engineering solutions.
  • Providing technical leadership to design engineers, taking technical responsibility, and oversight of their projects, ensuring requirements are met.
  • Leading the delivery of engineering projects, driving performance, and efficiency of technical programs to agreed Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and Metrics.
  • Establishing and maintaining high standards of engineering excellence and world-class problem-solving, building a high-performance team.
  • Mentoring and supporting the technical development of the wider team through informal and formal training.
  • Selecting and managing suppliers and key delivery partners, ensuring seamless technical collaboration.

To be considered for this esteemed role, you will need:

  • A strong background as a technical expert within robotics and automation systems engineering, with a minimum of 7 years of proven industrial experience.
  • A demonstrable track record of implementing safety systems within automation and robotics production solutions.
  • Proven experience with systems engineering methodology, processes, and tools, including requirements management, technical specifications, verification, and validation plans, Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), and control plans.
  • The ability to lead, implement, and adopt roadmaps that define the technical and innovation direction of the company's Robotics and Automation solutions.
  • Hands-on experience designing, building, and commissioning industrial automation solutions to meet customer and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Experience in utilising and integrating various digital control technologies such as advanced Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), Node-RED, Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA), or Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES).
  • Strong expertise in controlling industrial automation hardware, including pneumatics or servo motors.
  • Demonstrable experience in offline and online programming of industrial robots.
  • The ability to technically lead robotics and automation aspects of complex engineering projects while supporting the wider project team to ensure timely delivery.
  • Aptitude to inspire and support others to increase their proficiency in areas of automation and robotics.
  • The capacity to work independently and contribute effectively as a member of a high-performance team.
  • Desirable: Experience with robotics solutions for welding, machining, cutting, bonding, and/or complex assembly.
