Design Engineer

About the Role:
MTrec Ltd Technical is seeking a skilled Design Engineer to join their team in Northumberland. As a Design Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing innovative solutions to resolve customer requirements. You will manage projects and provide engineering support to customers and internal departments to develop technical solutions that meet customer and client expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the primary point of contact for customers' engineers, providing technical support and guidance.
- Develop thermal management solutions to meet customer requirements, utilizing 3D modeling and 2D drawing skills.
- Manage individual projects, creating engineering designs and ensuring a smooth transition into manufacture.
- Collaborate with Production/Manufacturing Engineering to ensure processes meet customer requirements.
- Support the Sales Department function and maintain customer-related information in accordance with Departmental procedures.
- Work with due regard to Health and Safety requirements and ensure 5S housekeeping targets are achieved.
- Provide engineering support to the team when other Engineers are unavailable.
Requirements:
- HND in Mechanical Engineering or a similar level of experience.
- Ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, but this is not essential.
- Knowledge of 3D CAD design for machined components or assemblies.
- 3-4 years of engineering experience in a design, development, and manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with SolidWorks (or similar CAD software) to generate models and drawings.
