Role Overview

St Andrew's Healthcare is seeking a highly skilled Senior Occupational Therapist to join our innovative OT team in Birmingham. As a Senior Occupational Therapist, you will work with individuals who present with complex mental health conditions and provide specialist occupational therapy services.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a registered clinician to take on a leadership role and contribute to the development of our OT service. You will be responsible for supervising junior staff, developing others, and taking responsibility for projects aimed at improving patient care.

You will have the opportunity to lead and attend activities that enhance your continuing professional development, as well as network with colleagues across the service and The Charity.

Requirements
  • Experience working within a secure setting
  • Post-registration clinical expertise with a minimum of 3 years
  • Post-registration expertise in an adult mental health setting and working with women is an added advantage
  • Evidence of specialist training in the area of practice and ongoing CPD
  • Ability to apply and promote OT skills, including carrying out specialised occupational assessments and facilitating therapeutic interventions
  • Ability to manage complex and sensitive information using motivational and negotiating skills
  • Analytical skills involving interpretation, comparison, and reasoned judgement in complex situations
  • Flexible planning and organisational skills required for formulating and adjusting therapeutic activities and programmes
  • Knowledge and experience of clinical supervision
  • Ability to manage own and other's workload flexibly
  • Knowledge of research techniques and experience of clinical audit
  • Experience of day-to-day supervision of junior staff and students
