Accounting and Regulatory Policy Manager

Job Summary:

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Hiscox Group Finance team as an Accounting and Regulatory Policy Manager. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for providing technical accounting support to business unit finance teams and advising on accounting and regulatory policy matters.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the development of group-wide accounting policies and communicate these to the finance teams.
  • Provide technical accounting support to business unit finance teams and advise on accounting and regulatory policy matters.
  • Evaluate new IFRS and regulatory reporting requirements and oversee their implementation.
  • Support the production of Board and Audit Committee papers to advise on accounting and regulatory developments.
  • Engage effectively with auditors on accounting issues and audit matters.

Requirements:

  • Fully qualified accountant with 2+ years of experience.
  • Good technical and financial reporting knowledge within the financial services sector.
  • Ability to constructively challenge and analyze results.
  • Hands-on approach and keen eye for detail.
  • Strong control mindset and experience.
  • Good problem-solving skills.
  • Pragmatic decision maker.
  • Enthusiastic, curious, and 'can-do' attitude.

Reporting Relationships/Interactions:

  • Reports to the Head of Group Accounting and Regulatory Policy.
  • Maintain constructive and supportive professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
