About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Assistant Commercial Finance Analyst to join our Finance Department at EG Group's Head Office.

In this role, you will provide key support to the commercial finance team, maintaining responsibility for producing commercial reporting and output for senior and operational management.

You will be the primary point of contact for Operational and Senior Management, applying a commercial mindset to drive insights and provide regular updates to key stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in producing daily, weekly, and monthly reporting on KPIs across your responsible area, ensuring timely delivery to senior management and operations.
  • Ensure accuracy of reporting to senior stakeholders, working closely with the operation team to provide key support and analysis on business KPIs.
  • Demonstrate a strong commercial understanding of core business KPIs and articulate how to drive these.
  • Record weekly actions and provide key support to the commercial analyst and Commercial Finance Manager.
  • Coordinate weekly and monthly meetings, providing support in the month-end review of site-by-site P&Ls to ensure accuracy of site-by-site P&L reporting.
  • Prepare the first draft of quarterly and annual site-by-site budgets, providing commentary on actual and budget variance, working closely with the FSS and Operational team.
  • Provide input into the monthly board pack presentation, offering commercial insight to the Fuel Pricing and Convenience Retail team.
  • Perform ROI analysis on all investments, reviewing and preparing the monthly R&M report and analysis.
  • Provide concise, clear, and timely business updates to the Commercial Finance Manager and other senior management, escalating key issues in a timely manner.
Candidate Requirements
  • Part-qualified accountant (AAT/ACCA/CIMA/ACA).
  • Excellent communicator with the confidence to discuss numbers with senior members of the finance function, including the CEO/CFO.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and strong knowledge of Excel.
  • Strong commercial finance and business acumen, with analytical and adaptable skills and good attention to detail.
  • Multi-site experience within hospitality or retail (desirable).
