Job Purpose

The Service Excellence Analytics Lead will play a critical role in driving improvements in service provision across University Services. This position requires a professional with expertise in data analysis and strategy to lead the development of actionable insights that inform decision-making.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Develop and execute a data-led strategy to generate insights that drive the Service Excellence Programme.
  2. Design and develop data solutions for the Service Excellence Programme, including setting baselines and tracking key programme goals.
  3. Lead the design and implementation of a comprehensive data model for University Services to support Service Excellence.
  4. Develop high-value advanced data analysis and visualisation outputs to inform decision-making.
  5. Utilise insights to lead options appraisals and shape Services across the University.
  6. Integrate data sources to create credible and compelling insight with engaging data stories.
  7. Collaborate with senior stakeholders to ensure data analyses are tailored to diverse audiences.
  8. Lead the insight and opportunity analysis for the Service Excellence Programme.
  9. Collaborate across the Planning Insight & Analytics function to leverage existing data assets.
  10. Define effective service delivery in a data sense to highlight areas of high and lower performance.

Knowledge, Qualifications, Skills & Experience

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data analysis and strategy, with experience in leading data-driven initiatives and developing actionable insights. A degree in a relevant field, such as data science or business analytics, is required. The candidate should also have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders.

Terms and Conditions

This is a full-time, fixed-term position for up to 31 July 2027. The salary will be Grade 8, £48,350 - £56,021 per annum. The University of Glasgow offers a warm and welcoming organisational culture, with a commitment to supporting the health and wellbeing of its staff.
