Ornithologist Role

Penguin Recruitment Ltd is seeking an experienced Ornithologist to join their team in York or Derby. The successful candidate will work closely with Ecologists, Landscape Architects, and Design Planners on various projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leading and conducting ornithological surveys to identify bird species and habitats.
  • Collecting and analysing data, conducting desk-based research, and preparing technical reports to support project decisions.
  • Providing ecological and ornithological advice to clients, stakeholders, and project teams.
  • Mentoring colleagues interested in ornithology and supporting their professional development.
  • Building and maintaining relationships with clients, contractors, and regulatory bodies.

Requirements:

  • A degree in Ecology, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  • Strong bird identification skills and experience with ornithological survey techniques.
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
