Job Overview

As a Transfusion Committee Coordinator at NHS Blood and Transplant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the South East Coast Regional Transfusion Committee (RTC) in implementing actions set by the National Blood Transfusion Committee in England.

About the Role

The successful candidate will provide administrative support to the RTC, including direct assistance to the Chair, Customer Services regional team, and Chairs of sub-groups. Key responsibilities include:

  • Handling telephone and written enquiries on committee-related issues in a professional manner.
  • Arranging meetings, video/teleconferences, and distributing agendas, minutes, and supporting papers to relevant members, the wider healthcare community, and NHSBT Hospital Liaison team.
  • Organizing educational events, liaising with exhibitors, delegates, and venue staff to ensure smooth event execution.
  • Providing administrative support for pilot initiatives, such as developing new patient information.
  • Designing, distributing, analyzing, and reporting regional audits/surveys to Hospital Transfusion Committees and RTC.
  • Managing a small budget, tracking income and expenditure, and providing financial statements to the RTT/RTC.
  • Liaising with transfusion guidelines website staff for website maintenance.
  • Assisting in promoting corporate and quality objectives.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should possess:

  • A minimum of 5 GCSEs (including Maths and English) or equivalent experience.
  • Educated to A level, NVQ Level 3, or equivalent qualification/experience.
  • European Computer Driving Licence (ECDL) or ITQ2/CLAIT II/RSA III text/word processing, or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development.
  • Experience working in a busy office environment, using office equipment, handling conflicting deadlines, and priorities.
  • Administrative or secretarial experience, including producing meeting agendas, taking minutes, running bring-forward systems, and chasing progress on actions.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office packages (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), or equivalent systems.
