About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Consultant Community Paediatrician to join our team at Medway Community Healthcare. As a key member of our community paediatrics service, you will be responsible for providing high-quality medical care to children with complex needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead or contribute to clinical areas, including complex paediatric neuro-disability, children with complex needs, and neurodiversity presentations.
  • Assess and diagnose children with developmental delay, intellectual disorders, and disabilities.
  • Provide medical advice to allied health professionals and participate in statutory special education needs and disabilities and EHCP processes.
  • Supervise and support less experienced doctors and work in conjunction with nurses and therapists.
  • Develop and implement clinical policies and procedures, and ensure compliance with national guidelines.

Requirements

  • MRCP, MRCPCH by examination or equivalent.
  • Full GMC registration and on the GMC specialist register.
  • Experience in community paediatrics and ability to work unsupervised and make decisions.
  • Good written and oral communication skills, and ability to manage time effectively.
  • Experience of working in a multi-disciplinary team and ability to lead and motivate staff.
