About the Role

Elsevier Limited Company seeks a highly skilled Publishing Ethics Expert to support our Science, Technology, and Medical Journal (STMJ) division. This role involves providing expert guidance to Editors and Publishers on handling ethical allegations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting ethics investigations and assessments of allegations, including plagiarism, duplication, authorship disputes, peer review manipulation, and figure manipulation/duplication.
  • Raising awareness and knowledge levels of ethical policies and procedures among team members.
  • Acting as a subject matter expert to provide input for ethics-related projects and product development.
  • Providing expertise on tools that support the detection of publishing ethics issues.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of two years' relevant experience in a similar role.
  • A relevant degree in an academic discipline.
  • In-depth knowledge of peer-review processes, the publishing industry, and COPE best practices.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey complex information effectively.
  • Experience supporting editors or other senior academics in a publishing environment.
