Wokingham Borough Council is seeking a skilled Revenue Collector to play a vital role in the inspections of domestic and business properties throughout the borough.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring accurate records and maximising income collection while providing guidance and support to residents.

Key Responsibilities:

• Inspect domestic and commercial properties on a daily basis
• Make decisions based on information obtained during inspections
• Provide information and advice to external customers using knowledge of council tax and business rates legislation
• Monitor newly developed properties, liaise with site managers, and serve completion notices
• Ability to drive and possess a clean driving licence and have use of own car on a daily basis
• Deal with potentially violent, abusive, and uncooperative customers

Candidate Requirements:

• Previous experience of Council Tax and Business Rates
• Ability to work alone, manage a varied workload
• Ability to multi-task and work under pressure
• Excellent organisational skills
• Compassionate, empathetic, and understanding
