About the Role

As a Primary Teacher for SEN School, you will be responsible for pupils within the primary age phase with complex autism and severe learning difficulties. The class follows a semi-formal curriculum, incorporating social communication and emotional regulation strategies, and is supported by an experienced team of Teaching Assistants.

You will need to be a willing and inquisitive learner yourself and have the ability to work as a team with your own class and within the School community. Some of the responsibilities of the role include:

  • Organising and managing a classroom
  • Working 1-1 with pupils who require additional support
  • Creating a well-structured and positive environment
  • Teaching students with SEND/SEMH in specialist classes or groups
  • Building relationships with the pupils, the parents, and the faculty
  • Being a positive and proactive member of the staff
