Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Quantity Surveyor / Cost Manager to join our team at Build People. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing cost management services for multiple fast-paced international projects in the museum and exhibition industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage project costs from inception to completion, including benchmarking, budget development, contractor procurement, and cost control.
  • Produce Value Engineering reports and recommendations on adherence to budget, quality criteria, and buildability.
  • Assist with preparation and control of internal budgets and profit targets to deliver project management services.
  • Track project status and provide updates to relevant internal stakeholders.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with clients, consultants, contractors, and sub-contractors.
  • Assist with preparation and analysis of tenders (including pre-qualification).
  • Assist with contract administration, final accounts, estimating, cost planning, and reporting.
  • Prepare and manage consultant agreements and contracts ensuring compliance with all responses to communications, payments, submissions, etc.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in quantity surveying in the construction industry, preferably within the PQS / Consultancy sector.
  • Previous experience in a PQS environment will be beneficial.
  • Degree in Quantity Surveying (or equivalent).
  • Ability to prioritize workload and deliver on conflicting demands.
