Role Overview

The Assembler Welder will play a key role in the assembly and fabrication of large x-ray tubes. The primary responsibilities will include operating the clean room welding plant, recruiting, assessing, and training welders within the tube assembly department, and ensuring safety-related processes and compliance associated with the welding process.

Key Responsibilities

• Train and develop the skills of all welders operating in the cleanroom.
• Ensure the highest standards of cleanliness and safety in the clean room environment.
• Develop and maintain work instructions and assembly checklists.
• Participate in production improvement initiatives and promote continuous improvement within the tube assembly process.
• Be familiar with all assembly tasks in the tube assembly area and be able to work independently.

Requirements

• Extensive clean-room experience and proven experience in UHV technology.
• Proven experience in TIG welding processes and ability to coach TIG welding trainees.
• Knowledge of all facets of manufacturing processes and trained in all aspects of compressed gas handling.
• UHV leak checking experience essential.
• HNC or ONC in an Engineering or Scientific discipline and/or suitable work experience desirable.
