Google Inc. is seeking a highly skilled AI and ML UX Researcher to join our team in London, UK. This role will play a critical part in understanding user needs and behaviors, driving project priorities, and influencing stakeholders across functions to gain support for research-based, user-centric solutions.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting primary research, analyzing user behaviors and motivations, and developing recommendations to inform product strategy and design. They will work closely with our product partners in AI and Data, ML Infrastructure, and GenAI development and engineering stakeholders to accelerate our research-to-production goals with our customer and partner Google Deep Mind.

This role requires a deep passion for AI technology and a strong ability to leverage a range of qualitative and quantitative research methods and analysis techniques in highly diverse disciplinary environments. The ideal candidate will have experience owning outcomes and decision making, solving ambiguous problems, and influencing stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Influence stakeholders across functions to gain support for research-based, user-centric solutions.
  • Drive project priorities in alignment with larger project goals, and coordinate allocation of resources within the project.
  • Lead ideas to improve products and services through research-driven insights and recommendations.
  • Lead vision and strategy discussions through research by analyzing, consolidating, or synthesizing what is known about user, product, service, or business needs.
Requirements

The successful candidate must have a Bachelor's degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Cognitive Science, Statistics, Psychology, Anthropology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. Additionally, they must have at least 8 years of experience in an applied research setting, or similar, with expertise in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning (ML) models, ML infrastructure, Natural Language Processing, or Deep Learning.

A Master's degree or PhD in Human-Computer Interaction, Cognitive Science, Statistics, Psychology, Anthropology, or a related field is desirable, as is 8 years of experience conducting UX research on products. Experience leveraging a range of qualitative and quantitative research methods and analysis techniques in highly diverse disciplinary environments is also essential.
