Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure the kitchen is set up and ready for each service, maintaining the right par levels and ingredients to prevent wastage and optimize food costs.
  • Wear a full smart uniform and protective clothing according to brand standards.
  • Adhere to the Pasta Evangelists Standard, ensuring high-quality food preparation and presentation.
  • Maintain a clean and organized kitchen, complying with Health and Safety, Quality, and Safety regulations.
  • Monitor inventory and inform team leaders and the wider team about availability.
  • Document food-related information, ensure effective date labelling, and follow stock rotation principles (FIFO).
  • Maintain par levels and record food wastage accurately.
  • Optimize food readiness using SOPs, ensuring quality and speed.
  • Ensure equipment is at the correct temperature and procedures are followed for safe food handling.
  • Maintain equipment according to SOP standards.
  • Prepare and cook food to the highest standards, following 'How to Card' guidelines and SOPs.
  • Ensure food is prepared quickly, in the correct order, and according to SOPs.
  • Check deliveries, report any issues, and ensure storage requirements are met.
  • Operate the wash-up area effectively, cleaning equipment thoroughly.
  • Use correct signage during cleaning.
  • Dispose of rubbish correctly, adhering to company waste management processes and Local Authority requirements.
  • Report equipment defects to team leaders or Area Managers.
  • Follow close-down kitchen procedures, ensuring the kitchen is clean and prepared for the next shift.
  • Organize pest checks and report any concerns to team leaders and higher management.
Requirements
  • Knowledge of safe food handling, storage, and preparation techniques.
  • Familiarity with basic culinary techniques, such as chopping, slicing, dicing, and measuring ingredients.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively.
  • Meticulous attention to detail in food preparation, cleaning, and kitchen organization.
  • Ability to work well in a team, communicate effectively with colleagues, and follow instructions.
  • Willingness to adapt to changing situations, work schedules, and tasks in a dynamic kitchen environment.
