Payroll Manager Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Payroll Manager to join our team at Hays Specialist Recruitment Limited. As a Payroll Manager, you will be responsible for managing the payroll process for almost 800 employees, ensuring timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions, and implementing and maintaining payroll processing systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Implementing, maintaining, and managing payroll processing systems
  • Ensuring timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions, including salaries, bonuses, benefits, attachments of earnings, taxes, and other deductions
  • Processing new employees, leavers, and changes in pay rates
  • Ongoing analysis of payroll systems and processing software
  • Managing fleet vehicles and fuel cards
Requirements:
  • Experience of running a large weekly/monthly industry payroll or existing Payroll Manager looking to take the next step in their career
  • Authority on payroll policy and systems
  • Master of MS Excel to optimise reporting methods for numerous weekly payees based in multiple sites across Wales
  • Ability to keep yourself and the team up to date with changes in law, tax, and best practice
