Ecologist Role at Bouygues UK

As a Site Ecologist at Bouygues UK, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the ecological integrity of our construction projects. Your expertise will be instrumental in identifying and mitigating potential environmental impacts, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, and fostering a culture of sustainability within our organization.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Ecological Management: Develop and implement ecological management plans to minimize the project's ecological footprint.
  2. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to relevant environmental legislation and regulations, providing coaching and support to operational teams as needed.
  3. Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with regulators, clients, design teams, and internal stakeholders to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  4. Ecological Consultancy: Provide expert ecological consultancy services, including surveys, mitigation, enhancement design, and on-site support.
  5. Technical Support: Contribute to Biodiversity Net Gain initiatives and help foster a culture of continual improvement in ecological practices.
Requirements:
  1. Education: Degree or Masters level in Ecology or a related subject.
  2. Membership: Active membership in the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (CIEEM).
  3. Commercial Awareness: Good level of commercial awareness and understanding of environmental management for construction sites.
  4. Technical Skills: Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  5. Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  6. Flexibility: Full UK driver's license and willingness to travel.
  7. Industry Experience: Experience working on large-scale infrastructure construction projects.
