Role Overview

Protocol Education is a specialist education recruitment agency with a focus on providing expert support to teachers and schools across the UK.

We are currently seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Support and Guidance Specialist to work with pupils who have additional needs in a school environment.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will work with pupils who have additional needs on a 1:1 basis, group interventions, and general classroom support through EYFS (Early Years) through to Key Stage 1 & 2.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Work with pupils who have additional needs on a 1:1 basis, group interventions, and general classroom support through EYFS (Early Years) through to Key Stage 1 & 2.
  2. Support pupils who have behaviour needs and work with them to develop positive relationships and strategies to manage challenging behaviour.
  3. Work collaboratively with teachers and other support staff to develop and implement individualised support plans for pupils.
  4. Assist with the management of the classroom and support the teacher in the delivery of lessons.
  5. Provide emotional and physical support to pupils who require it.

Requirements

  • Experience working with children or young people who have SENd and/or behaviour needs.
  • Desire to support young people who have additional needs and may present challenging behaviour.
  • Emotional and physical resilience.
  • Team teach trained (desired).

Estimated salary: £22,000 - £25,000 per annum.
