Support Worker Assistant

Vacancy Overview:
This role involves working as part of a project staff team, engaging with and providing support to young people who can be difficult to engage. All support must be in line with support plans and/or as requested by the key-working Support Worker or Team Leader. Excellent communication with the whole staff team is required. Ensuring the safety and highest quality maintenance and cleanliness of the project, recording and reporting all work & incidents in accordance with Llamau's procedures is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Engage and build strong relationships with people
- Provide non-judgmental support and understanding of the impacts of homelessness, substance misuse, family breakdown, domestic abuse, and trauma
- Develop a forward-thinking and resilient attitude to overcome barriers and setbacks
- Remain calm and collected in challenging situations
- Have experience in support work or domestic abuse with an understanding of housing options, housing law, and basic benefits
- Hold a full UK driving license, access to a car, and business insurance (desirable)

Location: Blaenau Gwent
Contract: Full-time, Temporary until March 2025
Hours: 35 hours per week + on-call duties
Additional payment of £96 for on-call duties
Any shift completed voluntarily or as part of on-call will be paid in addition to your salary at relief rates; Relief Pay per hour £13.45, Sleepover £172.60
