Defence Technical Documentation Specialist

We are a highly innovative and rapidly growing defence technology company that designs, develops, and delivers advanced defence-related training products and services.
As a Defence Technical Documentation Specialist, you will be responsible for documenting the capabilities of our defence systems and providing written guidance for their use, both internally and externally.
- You will work closely with our mission systems team to design and develop high-quality technical documentation, following industry-standard formats and guidelines.
Your duties will involve contributing to the development of software and overall system capabilities, as well as creating comprehensive user guides and system manuals.
This role will primarily operate within an agile software development process, requiring adaptability and flexibility in a fast-paced environment.
The Ideal Candidate
We are seeking a skilled and experienced individual with excellent attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to produce high-quality technical documentation.
The successful candidate will have experience in researching and analysing technical information, understanding and applying '5Cs' principles in technical writing, and working with configuration control tools such as SVN or Git.
- Competent user of modern office applications, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and image editing software.
Proficiency in writing using MadCap Flare, DITA, or similar software is highly desirable. The ideal candidate will also have knowledge of Systems and Software Engineering Lifecycles, interface and integration concepts, as well as basic IT Networking concepts.
Due to the nature of the role, the successful applicant must be a UK National and may be required to complete National Security Vetting, which involves criminal record, security service, and credit reference checks.
