About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Cook to join our team at Rix House Care Home. As a Cook, you will be responsible for preparing and serving meals to our residents, ensuring that all kitchen areas are clean and tidy, and maintaining a safe and healthy environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook a variety of meals to suit different dietary needs
- Ensure that all kitchen areas are clean and tidy, and that a robust cleaning schedule is followed
- Maintain a safe and healthy environment, adhering to health and safety regulations
- Work in a person-centred approach, ensuring that all residents receive excellent care and support
- Order food and cleaning stock accurately and efficiently
- Conduct regular fridge, freezer, and food temperature checks
Requirements
- Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in a care home or catering environment
- Excellent communication and team working skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing situations
- Level 2 in food preparation and food hygiene
