Job Requirements

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Accounts Receivable Manager to join our finance team at Sharpsmart UK. This role will be based in Spennymoor, Durham, and involves working 4 days per week with the option to work from home one day.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a credit control or accounts receivable role, ideally within the healthcare or waste management sector. They will possess strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and be able to deal with customers in a professional and empathetic manner.

This role is responsible for monitoring and managing outstanding accounts, ensuring timely collection of debts and reducing overdue payments. The successful candidate will also be required to monitor daily cash collections and allocations, undertake regular customer account reconciliations, and resolve balancing items.

Additional responsibilities include building and maintaining strong relationships with customers to resolve any payment disputes or issues, liaising with internal teams, generating statements and invoices, and preparing regular reports for management on aged debtors.

Key Skills and Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a credit control or accounts receivable role
  • Strong understanding of credit control processes and best practices
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
