About the Role:
Barnardo's Scotland is seeking a skilled Aftercare Journey Specialist to provide essential support to young people aged 16-26 years who are leaving care in Highland. The successful candidate will work closely with care-experienced young people who have received the right to remain in the UK, following previous support as unaccompanied asylum seekers.

In this critical role, you will assess the needs of each young person and develop personalized support plans to promote their independence and well-being. This will involve providing advice and guidance on key areas such as housing, education, employment, and emotional well-being.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough assessments to understand the needs and circumstances of each young person
  • Develop and implement individualized support plans to promote independence and well-being
  • Collaborate with local authorities, schools, and community organizations to ensure comprehensive support
  • Provide regular updates and progress reports to stakeholders
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation, adhering to data protection and confidentiality guidelines

Requirements:
- Proven experience in social work, youth support, or a related field
- Excellent assessment and report-writing skills
- Strong understanding of the needs and challenges faced by care-experienced young people
- Ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders, including young people, families, and professionals
