Job Description

Role: Senior Specialist Environmental Health & Safety (EHS)

Responsibilities:

  • Identify and manage project work, ensuring compliance with Cal/OSHA, NFPA, DOT, and EPA standards and regulations.
  • Develop and conduct safety training, providing resources to assist employees in safe work practices.
  • Communicate and implement safety programs throughout the facility, investigating safety incidents and ensuring compliance with regulations.
  • Implement and maintain the effectiveness of the quality system, communicating and implementing Corporate, Divisional, Federal, State, and Local regulations.
  • Develop and implement EHS policies and programs, interfacing with employees and departments on safety, transportation, and environmental-related issues.
  • Initiate and submit safety and environmental reports to management, Division, Corporate, and regulatory agencies.
  • Complete EHS projects as assigned, ensuring overall site-wide employee health and safety responsibilities and accountability.

Requirements:

  • NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent Level 5/6 in EHS) to provide knowledge and understanding of EHS regulations, practices, and policies.
  • Experience of EHS issues to ensure a competent response to EHS legal requirements.
  • Computer literacy, preferably with knowledge of software packages such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.
