Job Overview

The role of the Advanced Clinical Nurse Practitioner in Urology at University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is a dynamic and challenging position that requires a highly skilled and dedicated individual. The successful candidate will join the Urology Stones/Endo-luminal/Endo-urology service, working closely with the medical team to deliver a holistic service for patients. This autonomous nursing role offers exciting opportunities for development and expansion.

Responsibilities
  • Work part time in a hybrid model, with flexibility to work across multiple sites.
  • Co-ordinate the daily management of the Endo-Urology unit as part of the multi-disciplinary team.
  • Provide advice and support to clinical teams caring for patients with general urinary complaints related to urinary stones.
  • Conduct high-quality nurse-led assessments for adult patients.
  • Liaise with system-wide partners on specific patient issues, including referrals into community teams.
  • Work collaboratively with patients and carers, alongside the MDT, to promote quality care.
  • Take a lead in education, training, and documentation about this specialty area.
  • Lead an outpatient nursing service, undertaking and interpreting basic diagnostic tests with potential to develop autonomous advanced clinical skills (training provided).
  • Triage patients in the community and provide continuous outreach support, converting to in-patient based on clinic need.

Requirements
  • A minimum of 5 years' relevant post-registration experience, preferably in urology or a related field.
  • Honours Degree in Nursing, midwifery, research, or ethics.
  • Prioritisation of own workload and ability to work autonomously.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally, in writing, and electronically.
  • Demonstrable understanding of the Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion and knowledge of the NHS obligations under the Equality Act 2010 and the Public Sector Equality Duties.

Salary and Benefits

£54,320 - £60,981 per annum inclusive of HCAS Pro rata.
