As a van driver, you'll be on a mission to transport new cooking oil and exchange those empty containers. It's a hands-on role where you make an impact.
You'll be visiting the shops we want to work with, with a quick & friendly drop-in to hand over informative leaflets. It's a chance to make a memorable impression and foster those crucial partnerships. So, even when you're not behind the wheel, you're still making a significant impact
Key Responsibilities:
- Delivering fresh oil to the catering / restaurant trade and collecting used cooking oil.
- Pre-trip inspection of the vehicle to ensure that it is in proper working order and complies with safety regulations.
- Regular maintenance of the vehicle to ensure it remains in proper working order, and reporting any mechanical issues to the appropriate personnel.
- Driving the vehicle in a safe and efficient manner, while adhering to traffic laws and complying with all safety regulations and procedures while operating the vehicle.
- Safely Loading and unloading of cargo and ensuring it is secured according to safety regulations.
- Making/taking payment for oil and the maintenance and accuracy of cash/pre-paid cards.
- Communicating with dispatch and customers to provide updates on delivery times and any issues that arise during transport.
- Accurate recording of information following Oil delivery and / or collection, eg completion of Waste Transfer Notes
- Reporting of missed or failed deliveries on a daily basis to Microsite Manager.
- Build and maintain good relationships with customers and prospective customers, assisting with sales efforts when required.
Requirements:
- A Driving Licence and a clean driving record.
- Experience of Driving a Van's in the UK with exceptional knowledge of UK roadways, laws, and regulations (Minimum 6 Months)
- Excellent Communication skills and be able to effectively communicate with the Transport Office, customers, and other drivers on the road.
- Be professional in your demeanour, appearance, and conduct
- Strong customer service orientation and a willingness to engage with customers positively is essential
- Experience of business-to-business sales generation and achievement of targets as part of a wider driving role is desirable (but not essential).
- Awareness of safety regulations relating to driving a vehicle and health and safety in the workplace.
- Ability to problem solve and be able to demonstrate examples as to when they have handled unexpected situations.
- A high level of attention to detail due to the nature of checking documents.
- You should have a strong work ethic, be reliable and flexible in your schedule, as the job may require you to work long hours, nights, weekends, and holidays.
