Career Legal is seeking an experienced solicitor to join its expanding public procurement and commercial contracts team. This position offers a unique opportunity to work on a wide variety of complex and high-profile matters, providing expert advice to a diverse range of clients across the public and private sectors.
The FirmCareer Legal is a well-established law firm with over 150 years of history, recognised for its legal expertise in areas such as banking, construction, corporate, employment, litigation, and property. The firm serves a client base that includes Registered Providers of social housing and private developers and has been consistently ranked for its specialist knowledge in these sectors.
The TeamThe solicitor will join a dedicated Projects Team, part of the wider Real Estate and Projects division. The team advises on a broad range of transactions, including public procurement, joint ventures, public-private partnerships, and IT contracts. The role provides an opportunity to work closely with key clients, offering expert legal support in procurement matters, commercial contracts, and related areas.
Key Responsibilities- Provide expert legal advice on public procurement matters for contracting authorities.
- Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial contracts, including goods and services agreements, IT supply contracts, and PFI/PPP agreements.
- Manage files and projects independently, ensuring deadlines and client expectations are met.
- Ensure compliance with relevant legal standards, including LEXCEL and Solicitor's Accounts Rules.
We are looking for a solicitor with 3+ years PQE and a focus on public procurement and commercial contracts. You should have in-depth knowledge of UK public procurement legislation, with a strong understanding of the Procurement Act 2023 and relevant secondary legislation. Experience advising contracting authorities, either in private practice or through an in-house role, is essential. You should also have a high level of commercial awareness and attention to detail, ensuring work is consistently delivered to a high standard.
