About the Role

The successful candidate will support the Group Tax function with management of corporate tax compliance, year-end tax reporting, tax risk management, and transfer pricing compliance. The role requires working closely with external tax advisers on tax returns preparation and submission, including coordination of work to support R&D claims and group relief. Additionally, you'll be responsible for managing routine HMRC correspondence, monitoring tax payments and refunds, and reviewing overseas corporate tax returns. You'll also prepare annual transfer pricing local files, provide ad-hoc assistance to the Group Tax Manager, and assist with tax authority enquiries/audits.

Main Responsibilities
  • CORPORATE TAX COMPLIANCE:
    • Preparation and submission of UK tax returns, including coordination of work to support R&D claims and group relief.
    • Management of routine HMRC correspondence and monitoring tax payments and refunds.
    • Reviewing overseas corporate tax returns.
    • Preparation and submission of the UK CT61 withholding tax return.
    • Preparation of annual transfer pricing local files.
    • Providing ad-hoc assistance to the Group Tax Manager.
  • TAX REPORTING:
    • Supporting the calculation of the year-end tax provision for the group accounts, including current tax and deferred tax calculations and reconciliations.
    • Supporting the preparation of tax disclosures for local statutory accounts in the UK and some other countries.
  • TAX RISK MANAGEMENT:
    • Performing regular tax controls tests, reporting findings to the Senior Accounting Officer, and implementing improvements.
  • SUPPORT WITH OTHER TAXES:
    • Supporting preparation for BEPS 2.0 Pillar 2 compliance (global minimum tax).
    • Assisting with ad-hoc projects such as group structuring, M&A, financing flows, repatriation, and supply chain flows.
    • Ongoing day-to-day support and responding to the wider business in respect of general tax, including VAT and employment taxes as needed.
Requirements

We're looking for a CTA and/or ACCA/ATT/ACA/CA qualified individual with excellent planning and organisation skills, strong teamwork, collaboration, and communication skills. You should possess excellent prioritisation and time management abilities, attention to detail, analytical skills, and be self-motivated and proactive. You'll need to build and maintain relationships with multiple stakeholders internal and external to Dechra, be comfortable communicating in any medium and to any size audience in an inspiring and credible way, and have computer literacy with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office. Ideally, you'll have UK corporate tax experience, preferably gained from working at a large accountancy firm or in an in-house corporate tax role, and up-to-date knowledge of relevant tax legislation.
