Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Support Worker to join our close-knit team in Brecon. As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing tailored support to adults with autism, empowering them to achieve their goals and aspirations.
About the Role
This is an excellent opportunity for a caring individual who is passionate about making a real difference in the lives of adults with autism. As a Support Worker, your responsibilities will include:
- Providing personalised care to support daily activities, including personal care, life skills, and social interactions.
- Encouraging residents to engage in recreational activities, local outings, and community involvement.
- Promoting independence and celebrating achievements and milestones in our residents' lives.
- Maintaining accurate records of residents' activities, progress, and any incidents that may arise.
- Working collaboratively with a wider team to ensure each individual's care plan is followed, fostering a safe and positive environment.
- Assisting with general housekeeping duties and meal preparation to create a home-like atmosphere.
Required Skills and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess a compassionate and caring nature, with a genuine passion for helping others. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential for building trusting relationships with residents and colleagues alike. You should also be patient and resilient, particularly when supporting individuals with unique challenges.
Salary and Benefits
The estimated salary for this role is £11.60-£12.00 per hour, depending on experience. We offer a range of benefits, including career progression opportunities, a refer-a-friend scheme, health plan, and Blue Light Card eligibility.
