Job Title: Attendance Information Officer

Thomas Middlecott Academy is seeking a highly motivated and organized Attendance Information Officer to join our team. As an Attendance Information Officer, you will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate attendance records, monitoring attendance, and promoting good attendance across the school.

About the Role

This is a permanent, term-time position, working 37 hours per week, 39 weeks per year. The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date attendance records, both manually and electronically.
  • Monitoring attendance for all children and promoting good attendance across the school.
  • Administering a daily attendance and punctuality check each morning and following up on daily absences.
  • Processing and recording children who arrive late, leave during the school day, and those who are collected late after the end of the school day.
  • Processing applications for leave and special absence of children in liaison with the Attendance and Welfare Coordinator and Senior Leaders.
  • Regularly meeting with the Attendance and Welfare Coordinator to review attendance and punctuality data.
  • Inputting attendance data onto the school MIS and generating reports as required.
  • Making and receiving phone calls to/from parents regarding absence of students from school.
  • Assisting the Attendance and Welfare Coordinator with targeted home visits and meetings and any attendance/punctuality data that may be required to support case work.
  • Liaising with the Data and Exams Officer to ensure Attendance and Assessment records are accurate and up-to-date in conjunction with the Trust Assessment calendar.
What We Are Looking For

We are seeking a candidate with:

  • Educated to NVQ level 3 / 4 or equivalent.
  • Attention to detail in recording events, discussions, and the voice of the child.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, especially with students, parents, and school staff.
