Pharmacy Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled Pharmacy Technician to join our experienced Medicines Management team at Central London Community Healthcare NHS Trust.
### Job Summary:
As a Pharmacy Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring the provision of the Medicines Management service to designated bedded areas. This involves working in clinical areas unsupervised and maintaining the Patients Own Drug (POD) scheme according to Trust Policies.
### Key Responsibilities:
* Be responsible for ensuring the provision of the Medicines Management service to designated bedded areas
* Maintain the Patients Own Drug (POD) scheme according to Trust Policies
* Work in clinical areas unsupervised
* Provide and receive complex information on medicines use from a variety of settings
### Person Specification:
* BTEC or NVQ Level 3 in pharmaceutical services or equivalent
* Professional registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)
* Practical experience (as evidenced by CPD)
* Accredited Checking Pharmacy Technician (ACPT)
* Accreditation in PODs and Transcribing via HEE Medicines Optimisation Course
* Accreditation in Medicines Reconciliation via HEE Medicines Optimisation Course
### Experience:
* Extensive post-qualification hospital experience
* Primary and Community Health experience
* Experience of providing a ward-based Clinical Pharmacy Service with good medicines management initiatives
* Experience of research and audit techniques
* Experience of education and training
* Experience in financial reporting
* Experience of using ePACT
* Experience in supervising a team/service
* Experience of managing staff
### Knowledge:
* Understanding of the NHS and political climate
* Knowledge of all regulations and legislation and good practice in relation to medicines, Controlled Drugs, and FP10 Prescriptions
* Sound knowledge of medicines management issues faced in primary and secondary care
### Skills:
* Excellent communicator - both verbal and written including presentation skills
* Ability to provide and receive complex information on medicines use from a variety of settings
* Able to turn conflict into positive outcomes
* Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills and ability to negotiate and deal with complaints in the first instance
* Be able to analyse information relating to service provided where there are a range of facts requiring analysis and where a range of options need to be compared
* Ability to plan, set objectives, priorities and review performance against objectives
* Computer literate in Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Microsoft Outlook
* Advanced Excel spreadsheet skills
* Excellent teaching skills
