Job Title: Site Manager

First People Solutions is seeking an experienced Site Manager for a leading civil engineering contractor. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil engineering, particularly within the groundworks and infrastructure sectors.

Key Responsibilities:

• Execute project strategies to ensure timely completion.
• Coordinate resources for smooth project delivery, with a focus on safety and work standards.
• Oversee and monitor safety protocols, working closely with Contracts Managers, Health & Safety teams, and site staff.
• Ensure site personnel and sub-contractors meet safety and competence standards.
• Take ownership of site management, visiting regularly to offer support, ensure quality of work, and adherence to project timelines and building regulations.
• Communicate effectively between the site and the office.
• Develop, mentor, and train staff, working alongside the HR Officer.
• Collaborate with the Commercial team to implement commercial strategies effectively.
• Ensure all contractual obligations are met and projects run smoothly.

Requirements:

• Previous experience as a Site Manager within a civil engineering contractor.
• Strong background in managing groundworks, earthworks, and infrastructure packages.
• A degree or HND qualification in Civil Engineering is preferred, but a Building/Construction related qualification or Project Management Certificate can also be considered.
• Site Qualifications such as SMSTS, First Aid at Work, and Temporary Works Coordinator/Supervisor.
• Ability to write programmes and produce RAMS.
