About the Business

We are a dynamic property management company based in Birmingham City Centre, seeking a skilled Client Accountant to join our medium-sized team. Our company offers a supportive and family-friendly environment with low staff turnover, making it an ideal place for career growth and development.

Main Responsibilities
  • Client Interaction: Handle queries and maintain effective communication with clients.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare standard and bespoke reports, including tenant and property completion statements, monthly bank reconciliations, and service charge variance analysis reports.
  • Client Financial Management: Draft tenant and property completion statements, perform monthly bank reconciliations, clear down balances, and input service charge budgets.
  • VAT and Tax Compliance: Prepare and submit VAT reports, and ensure compliance with all relevant tax regulations.
  • Client Meetings and Communication: Participate in client meetings and Teams calls, and maintain regular communication with clients to ensure their needs are met.
  • Financial Administration: Manage monthly/quarterly tenant billing processes, make ad-hoc adjustments to tenant billing, calculate utility recharges, and raise related demands.
  • Service Charge Management: Reconcile and close service charge accounts, prepare and update service charge cash reconciliations, and assist the Estates Team in resolving queries.
  • Team Collaboration: Attend and contribute to departmental team meetings, support the wider accounting team, and assist with other tasks as required.
Requirements
  • AAT qualification or equivalent experience
  • Experience in property management accounting, preferably with a property management company
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with clients and colleagues
  • Advanced Excel skills and proficiency in Microsoft packages, including Outlook and Word
