Embark on a dynamic journey with AECOM, a world-leading infrastructure consulting firm, as a Principal/Associate Ecologist. Our dynamic Nature team is seeking a talented ecologist to shape the future of the environment and drive innovation in ecology programs and projects.

About the Role

As a key member of our team, you will lead and support the preparation of high-quality bids and tenders for ecological services, overseeing project work, and delivering exceptional ecological consultancy and advisory services to clients. Your expertise will be instrumental in developing technically robust solutions to complex ecological issues and producing high-quality ecology chapters for environmental statements and protected species licence applications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and support the preparation of high-quality bids and tenders for ecological services.
  • Oversee project work, ensuring necessary resources, budgets, and controls are in place to meet programme and budget requirements.
  • Deliver exceptional ecological consultancy and advisory services to clients.
  • Develop technically robust solutions to complex ecological issues.
  • Produce high-quality ecology chapters for environmental statements and protected species licence applications.
Requirements
  • Experience of leading and managing ecological surveys/licensing/impact assessment.
  • Experience in work-winning, managing projects, project budgets, and leading stakeholder discussions.
  • Well-developed understanding of relevant wildlife conservation or in relation to a major habitat type or species.
  • Membership of an appropriate professional institution and evidence of working towards Chartership.
  • Excellent field skills in at least one specialist area, including any protected species licences.
