Medical Specialist Leader

This is a full-time, permanent post for a Consultant in Cellular Pathology at the Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The successful applicant will join a team of consultants and be responsible for providing a comprehensive histopathology service.
Main Responsibilities:- Cooperate with other members of the Pathology Directorate to ensure effective administrative arrangements are made in the laboratory.
- Attend Board meetings and participate in resource management.
- Continuing management responsibility for the service in his/her charge and for administrative duties associated with these services.
- Full and specialist registration (and with a licence to practise) with the General Medical Council (GMC).
- MBChB or equivalent qualification.
- FRCPath or evidence of equivalent qualification.
- Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) or eligible for registration within six months of interview.
Salary: Approximately £76,000 - £103,000 per annum.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience:- Evidence of academic excellence in Pathology.
- Wide range of experience in Histopathology and Non-Gynae Cytology.
- Interest in other specialist areas including Dermatopathology, Oral/Head and Neck pathology.
