About the Position: We are recruiting a dedicated Acute Medicine Consultant/Physician to lead our acute medicine services at Musgrove Park Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing clinical leadership and supporting the ongoing development of acute medicine services within our Medical Services Group.

Main Duties:

  • Clinical Expertise: Provide specialist diagnosis, treatment, and care to patients with acute medical problems.
  • Servicing Evolution: Develop acute medicine services within the broader vision of providing high-quality clinical services.
  • Leadership: Consultant supervision of the Acute Medical Unit and Ambulatory Emergency Care Unit.
  • Emergency Support: Provide acute medicine presence and support within the Emergency Department.
  • Rota Participation: Participation in the medical on-call rota.
  • Escalation Beds: Provide consultant-level care for winter pressure escalation beds under the care of acute medicine.
