Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled Financial Controller to join our finance department. As a pivotal leader, you will oversee daily operations, ensure strong financial governance, and provide strategic direction to drive financial performance, reporting, and compliance. Key Responsibilities- Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements, including monthly management accounts and annual statutory accounts.
- Manage the Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Orders & Billing, and Management Accounting functions, leading and managing a team of four direct reports (+6 indirect).
- Develop, implement, and maintain robust financial controls, processes, and systems to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
- Provide strategic financial analysis, insights, and recommendations to senior management to support business decision-making.
- Manage cash flow, working capital, and liquidity to ensure the company's financial stability.
- Liaise with external auditors, tax advisors, debt providers, and other third-party stakeholders as required.
- Monitor and report on financial performance against budgets and forecasts, identifying areas for improvement.
- Drive continuous improvement in financial processes and systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Ensure timely and accurate submission of all regulatory filings and reports.
We are looking for a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with a minimum of 5 years of post-qualification experience. You should have proven experience in a Financial Controller role or similar position within a UK-based PE-backed company. Excellent technical accounting skills and knowledge of FRS102 are essential. Proficiency in using financial software (SAP would be an advantage) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills are also required.
