Main Purpose:

We are seeking a skilled Quality Inspector to join our Quality Department at Unipart Rail. Reporting to the Quality Manager, you will be responsible for inspecting and testing products to specifications prior to final dispatch to customers. Any issues or non-conformance to standards/specifications will be escalated to the QA Manager for review and resolution.

Main Responsibilities:

You will be expected to provide support to the business on the following activities:

  • Complete quality and functional testing on rail and traffic products prior to dispatch
  • Test products in accordance with established quality procedures
  • Complete Goods In quality inspections on supplied products ensuring compliance to drawings and specifications
  • Accurately record all Quality Control test results
  • Actively participate in the department supporting continual improvement
  • Liaise with operational team members, warehouse, and Production Team Leaders ensuring that appropriate inspection and testing is undertaken and technical documentation is controlled.

Essential Criteria:

We are looking for an individual who possesses the following skills/competencies:

  • Can read and interpret technical drawings
  • GCSE Maths & English (Grade A-C)
  • High level of accuracy with excellent attention to detail
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Good level of computer literacy
  • Competent in using measuring and test equipment (although training will be provided)
  • Strong communication and organisational skills

Desirable:

  • HNC in Mechanical/Electrical/QA Engineering
