About the Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic and passionate Occupational Therapist Assistant to join our multidisciplinary team at Priory Hospital Cheadle Royal. As an Occupational Therapist Assistant, you will provide support to Occupational Therapists in planning, implementing, and evaluating therapy and care plans to promote the mental, emotional, physical, and social well-being of patients.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Assist Occupational Therapists in updating clinical records and computerised information systems in a timely manner.
  2. Record and report patient participation in one-to-one and group activities, ensuring any unusual occurrences are promptly reported to senior staff.
  3. Provide compassionate care and support to patients, encouraging interactions within groups and activities.
  4. Support the development of activity schedules and service line timetables, and assist with clinical/OT assessments.
  5. Contribute to the creation of new ideas for delivery to enhance patient experience, following feedback from community groups and OT sessions.
  6. Work collaboratively with patients to increase their sense of purpose and value through life skills and prescribed OT sessions.
Requirements
  • Support Occupational Therapists in initial assessments and checklists.
  • Desirable skills include Autism/DBT skills/Life skills training.
  • GCSE/O-Levels (A-C) or relevant NVQ2 or equivalent experience required.
  • Previous experience in a health and social care setting is desired.
